About the station (and fun-facts)

ABN Radio Network Was the station back then from 2010 - April 2014, and the station is named as ABN Radio FM. It started as a little hobby internet radio project with only 1 person managing it. We play various hits but mainly CHR format, The owner tried to also introduce another station namely Vibe Radio FM but those plans never materialized. Fast-forward to April 2014, it's been decided to create a network and a revamp ABN Radio FM.

Then At April 22, 2014, Xtreme Radio Network is created with 1 station on its roster which introduced as "Xtreme Radio" on July 12, 2014. The network is now defunct as the owner is focused on managing only one station with future plans for multiple radio channels will be materialized in the foreseeable future.

At July 12, 2014, A name and logo change has been finalized and named as "Xtreme Radio", Keeping the ABN Radio FM format as it is. It lasts for about 2-3 years until a name and logo change is planned again, since the radio station name doesn't match the station's Variety and CHR format. Up until now the station name is still lingering on some radio directories and website, but most of them has been changed to the current station name "Hitz 983".
And at June 12, 2016, After Waiting for the final hour of the Radionomy Schedule, its time to finally shut down Xtreme Radio FM and change its name and logo for the third time. Bounce FM should be the next name for the station, but due to the owner's busy schedule and life the name and logo change to Bounce FM was never finalized and materialized, it took 5 months to decide to keep it as is or subject it for change. But of course eventually, the change has been made once again.

And at November 19, 2016. New Logo, New Design and New Domain, But retaining the same format as CHR (Contemporary Hit Radio) and Variety hits. The new radio station name is now "Hitz 983". Ever wondered why the name is chosen to be like that? Well it is because the owner is planning to launch a local radio station in the area with the frequency of 98.3 FM (hence the number "983" in the end). But that will soon be materialized in the future. (hopefully)
The Future
We always adapt into change and the station is currently testing some broadcast technology for internet radio. These are the following:
- FLAC Streaming - We are planning to introduce a lossless internet radio stream to Hitz 983. It will be streamed via Lossless FLAC with CD Quality audio. We are in the process on re-encoding all of our songs into lossless format to benefit and ensure high quality FLAC stream. It's currently on testing phase and will be introduced soon.
- Visual Radio - With more and more visual radio stations opening up in this day and age, its been decided to launch a visual radio station for Hitz 983. It will be expanded with more visual content soon but right now its currently showing artist and title information of the station with video loop in the background. Its currently on testing phase right now but you can watch it now via the "Listen & Watch" page.
- Podcasts - In the past, we have introduced our Podcasts to our listeners. But due to low listenership and it doesn't see a future update for 2-3 years now, we decided to scrap it for now. But in the future we will introduce Podcasts again very soon.
